An exceptional public servant, she is widely recognized for her leadership in affordable housing, intergovernmental cooperation, and revitalization of Pennsylvania's older municipalities. Her career began when she was elected as Reading's first woman mayor. She formerly was state Secretary of Community Affairs, the Secretary's Representative for the Mid-Atlantic Region, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Economy League.
