Barbara Fretz Crossette 2006

An internationally recognized writer and author of books on Asia, she is the former New York Times bureau chief at the United Nations and Times chief correspondent in South and Southeast Asia. Among her honors are the George Polk Award for coverage of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, the United Nations Correspondents? Association's lifetime achievement award and a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship in India.
